Iain Campbell
Senior Partner
A chartered accountant and graduate lawyer, has been the Senior Partner in FC Corporate Finance (and predecessor firms) for 18 years. Prior to that he worked in industry, including as a director of the UK’s fifth-largest passenger transport operator, a spell as Finance Director (Fresh Division) of Grampian Country Chickens, the UK’s largest poultry processor and a spell as Finance Director of a wholesale/retail bakery business. Iain also served three years as a director or a leading UK independent distributor of food packaging, was a director of a firm of solicitors, has served as a director of several private-equity-backed companies and has extensive experience of planning, negotiating and implementing acquisitions and of restructuring and integrating acquired businesses. Iain has advised on numerous mergers, acquisitions, privatisations and contract and franchise bids across a range of sectors, both in the UK and overseas. Iain has extensive knowledge and business experience internationally, including in Europe and the Middle East. Iain is also a student mentor on business planning, venture capital, structured finance and mergers and acquisitions on the award-winning Alliance Manchester Business School international MBA program.
Ben Brierley
Partner
Ben trained as an accountant with an independent firm of accountants and taxation advisers. Whilst there he qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and gained vast experience in financial reporting and tax planning. In 2014 Ben moved to FC to work in corporate finance where he qualified as a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2017. On his journey with FC, he has gained a wide range of corporate finance skills and experience in business disposals, MBO, MBI, due diligence, acquisition integration, venture capital and acquisition finance, business valuations, business turnaround and rescue and business planning. His recent transactional experience has been in the technology, facilities management, personnel services, manufacturing, engineering, and wholesale distribution of which several deals have been cross border acquisitions. Ben has also managed several outsourced finance departments including holding a temporary position as group financial controller of a large technology group.
Jake Artus
Corporate Finance Executive
Jake is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and has recently moved into corporate finance. Jake comes with a variety of experience working in industry for 7 years as a management accountant and finance manager for several SME’s.
Richard Woods
Consultant
Richard is FC’s passenger transport and people businesses consultant. He has over 35 years’ experience in the passenger transport industry, in which he has held a number of senior positions, including director of Mowsalatt, the Qatari state-owned transport operator, where he was in charge of the delivery of ground transport for the 2022 World Cup, Chief Operating Officer of Transport2 (UK), a private equity-backed technology-enabled transport procurement business, Group Chief Executive of City Group Co KSC, a Kuwait-based listed company that was the largest private sector bus operator in the Middle East, Head of Service delivery at Stagecoach Group PLC, one of the UK’s largest bus operators , Operations Director and shareholder in Glenvale Transport, a private equity-backed bus operator and General Manager at Merseyside Transport Limited, at that time also one of the UK’s largest bus operators.
Francis Marra
Consultant
Francis is FC’s wholesale/retail/consumer consultant. MBA-qualified, Francis was previously Regional Director of Asda where he was instrumental in store roll-out across the UK and also served as Managing Director of Asda Scotland, Group Managing Director of Brown & Jackson (Poundstretcher), Managing Director of the Sultan Centres (the leading supermarket chain in the Middle East), as well as a director or regional director of Lilywhites, Kwik Save and Powerhouse.
Eugene McCrink
Consultant
A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, Eugene has extensive experience in financial management, having been a divisional Finance Director in a FTSE 250 company and portfolio Finance Director for several SME businesses. Eugene has extensive experience in the UK and internationally driving and supporting financial operations, business change, ERP/systems projects and corporate turnaround. He has expertise in numerous sectors including passenger transport, manufacturing, retail and distribution.
